Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our sessions with clients are collaborative. This is your therapy and we want you to get out of it what you desire. We both naturally provide a warm, curious, and encouraging atmosphere, as we are dedicated to making clients feel supported and understood. Our first session together will last about 60 minutes. In the first few sessions, the main goal is to make you feel comfortable and to provide a safe space, free of judgment, for you to discuss vulnerable topics. We will take our time, easing into the issues you may feel uneasy talking about, and we will lead the first couple of sessions. After we have started to build our therapeutic relationship, we encourage clients to attend sessions with an idea of what they are hoping to discuss. Taking control of and ownership of your progress will help you move toward change faster.

  • You can schedule appointments directly with your therapist either in our session, via email or over the phone. We encourage scheduling recurring sessions so that you can count on meeting weekly at a given time and adjust your calendar accordingly.

  • Yes! In fact, our practice is now exclusively virtual which offers you the flexibility to have your therapy from anywhere you’d like, while not compromising on quality of care.

  • We value your confidentiality and your unique needs and because of this, do not think your insurance should dictate your therapy experience. Instead, you should have the freedom to determine your therapy process and the issues that you need help with in collaboration with your therapist. It is quite common that managed care companies determine the necessity of therapy and often declare couples and sex therapy “unnecessary.”

Because of this, we do not work directly with any insurance companies, and therefore are considered out-of-network providers. This means that you are responsible for the full fee of service at the end of each session. At the end of the month I create receipts for those clients who are hoping to seek reimbursement from their insurance company (often between 60-100 percent).

    TALK TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY

The amount that insurance companies are willing to reimburse is dependent on your specific plan. Get information from them about your benefits. Here are some questions to ask:

    • What are my mental health benefits with an out-of-network provider?

    • Is there a deductible that must be met in order to receive these benefits?

    • How much is it and have I met it yet?

    • What is the coverage amount? Is it a percentage or a flat-rate?

    • How much do you reimburse for CPT codes 90791, 90834, and 90837?

    • The practice location will be listed as Seattle, WA on superbills. Will this cause any issue?

    FEES

Please contact us to inquire about fees for individual, couples, and workshops.

  • Description text gStudies continue to demonstrate the importance of attending weekly sessions, especially at the beginning of therapy. With weekly sessions, you will receive the guidance, support, and accountability necessary to make lasting change. Momentum and motivation are also more easily maintained when meeting weekly.

  • This depends greatly on factors such as the issue, motivation, accountability, as well as many others. We like to keep the length of therapy as an open conversation throughout the process, checking-in on how we're doing with getting you to your goals.
