We're searching for a passionate full time Associate Clinician who shares our company's unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care in the world of sex therapy and couples counseling. Leveraging your background in virtual therapy, treatment planning, and ethical practice, you'll have the unique opportunity to provide clients with deeply personalized, evidence-based care, aligning perfectly with our commitment to holistic wellness.

This is a full time, W-2 employee position. Location does not determine eligibility for this role.

    • Are licensed or are willing to get licensed in the DMV area (DC, VA, and/or MD)

    • Can commit to working 2 evenings per week, wrapping up at 8pm EST

    • Possess a keen sense of reading the room and adjust your communication style to create an environment of warmth and openness as needed.

    • Are comfortable meeting clients where they are in their therapeutic journey.

    • Prioritize building strong rapport with clients to establish trust and a safe therapeutic space.

    • Are willing to discuss personal experiences in supervision to stay current and effective in sex therapy

    • Are comfortable setting and reinforcing healthy boundaries with clients

    • Aren’t afraid to seek support and guidance from supervisors or peers when faced with challenging boundary issues

    • Approach all sexual topics with an open and non-judgmental attitude

    • Show care and empathy towards all matters related to sexuality, regardless of personal beliefs.

    • Maintain a high level of self-awareness regarding your own experiences and triggers.

    • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, consistently engaging in thoughtful conversations by asking relevant and insightful questions that contribute to the ongoing dialogue.

  • • Can’t commit to evening work 2 nights per week (our clients have busy daytime schedules!)

    • Don’t have a graduate degree

    • Feel like your job is just an end to a means, you don’t feel that fire or passion for the work you do, nor do you care to dig deep within to find it

    • Aren’t or are unwilling to get licensed in DC, VA or MD

The Clinical Associate Role

At Peak Couples and Sex Therapy, the Associate Clinician plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client care in sex therapy and couples counseling. Responsibilities include conducting virtual therapy sessions, assessments, progress note taking, and personalized treatment plans while maintaining ethical standards. Responsibilities extend to providing transparent treatment cost estimates, expanding the professional network, and staying informed about industry developments all while holding the company’s mission, vision, and values at the forefront.

Let’s Talk Responsibilities . . .

  • • Conduct virtual therapy sessions with clients to address their needs and concerns effectively.

    • Thoroughly gather client information during initial assessments to ensure personalized treatment plans.

    • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and goals.

    • Regularly review and update treatment plans to reflect client progress and changing needs.

    • Effectively manage client schedules to ensure timely appointments and optimal client care.

    • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure accurate client records and facilitate seamless client care.

    • Maintain detailed progress notes for each client session, documenting key insights and developments.

    • Stay informed about emerging research and seek mentorship to address specialized client concerns.

    • Utilize TherapyNotes or similar platforms to securely manage and safeguard client health information.

    • Exercise discretion and professionalism in all client interactions, respecting their privacy and confidentiality.

    • Actively expand professional connections and networks within the field of psychotherapy, specifically sex therapy.

    • Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards in providing therapy services.

    • Stay well-informed about the latest developments and best practices in the field of sex therapy.

  • • Keep certifications and licenses current to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

    • Support billing processes as needed to ensure accurate and timely billing.

    • Collaborate closely with care coordinators to streamline logistics and improve the client experience.

    • Offer clients good-faith estimates of treatment costs to ensure informed decision-making.

  • • Actively participate in team meetings to discuss client cases, share insights, and collaborate on treatment plans.

    • Embrace virtual collaboration tools and methods to work effectively with colleagues and team members.

    • Attend weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one supervision and consultation meetings with in-house supervisor.

Peak Couples and Sex Therapy, PLLC offers comprehensive benefit packages that provide economic benefits to full-time employees. Peak Couples and Sex Therapy, PLLC encourages a lifestyle that allows employees to thrive in the workplace and in their daily lives through healthy living and flexible work options.

  • The pay range for this position is between $65 and $110 per “clinical hour” depending on experience. We will be happy to discuss details further in your initial interview so we can give you a more comprehensive and clear understanding of our pay brackets.

    There is opportunity for additional non-clinical pay for contributions that fall outside the aforementioned responsibilities. We will gladly discuss further in initial interviews.
