Have a question about sex, relationships, or becoming a therapist? Looking for professional guidance, education, or another perspective . . .not therapy?

A Pick My Brain meeting with our Clinical Director, AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, Jennifer Keilholtz, is a 30-minute educational consultation designed to give you direct access to Jennifer's knowledge and experience.

Jennifer isn’t just the person with the credentials. In a Pick My Brain session, she might show up as the smart sex-nerd friend who happens to know a lot, the adjunct professor who can make a complicated topic make sense, or the empathetic therapist who knows how to hold a tender question with care. All three are genuinely Jennifer.

…a therapist looking for consultation.
…a student exploring the field.
…a curious mind looking for an informed perspective.
…a direct question you want help thinking through, without therapy.
…wondering what’s typical in relationships, sex, or sexuality.
…looking for an outside perspective on something happening in your relationship.
…curious about sexuality and want to ask an expert.
…looking for resources, recommendations, or simply a place to start.

Pick my brain might be for you if. . .

What Is a Pick My Brain meeting?

Think of it as office hours with an expert.
These meetings are conversational, educational, and consultative. Jennifer shares information, professional perspectives, resources, and general guidance based on years of clinical experience.

This is an opportunity to ask questions, explore ideas, and benefit from an experienced clinician's expertise—without entering into psychotherapy.

These meetings are great for:

If any of these sound like you, you'd be a great fit for a Pick My Brain Session:

“I’m thinking about becoming a sex therapist.”
“I have a sex therapy question I’d love another perspective on.”
“I’m curious what healthy sexuality actually looks like.”
“I have a question about sex I’ve always been afraid to ask.”
“I’d love an expert’s perspective on something happening in my relationship.”

“I’m wondering if what we’re experiencing is actually pretty common.”
“I’m a therapist and could use another clinician’s perspective.”
“I’m curious about sexuality and want to ask someone who knows.”
“I’m not looking for therapy. I just have a question.”
“I have a specific question and want somewhere thoughtful to start.”

Why choose a Pick My Brain with Jennifer?

There is much to be gained from a 30-minute call with Jennifer.

Keep it simple and straightforward with no expectations for continued therapy.

Learn from Jennifer's years of experience and research.

Stop turning it over in your head -- get unstuck with Jennifer.

Have a safe, informed conversation about your curiosity.

Sometimes you don't need therapy, but a therapists perspective.

Jennifer Keilholtz, LCPC, LPC, CST, is a licensed clinician, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and adjunct professor who teaches future therapists about sexual wellness and counseling. She brings years of experience working with individuals and couples around sexuality, relationships, desire, betrayal, and sexual trauma. She’s also deeply passionate about educating future therapists and making conversations about sex and relationships more approachable.

But Jennifer isn’t just the person with the credentials. She’s funny, warm, curious, and genuinely loves talking about the wonderfully complicated ways humans connect. In a Pick My Brain session, she might show up as the smart sex-nerd friend who happens to know a lot, the adjunct professor who can make a complicated topic make sense, or the empathetic therapist who knows how to hold a tender question with care. All three are genuinely Jennifer.

Come with a question, a curiosity, or something you've been wondering about. Jennifer will bring the expertise, the perspective, and probably a few laughs.

Jennifer will not diagnose, assess, or provide psychotherapy during these meetings.
If it becomes clear that therapy would be more appropriate, she'll gladly point you toward appropriate resources including Peak therapists when appropriate.

A Pick My Brain Session Is NOT

Frequently Asked Questions

Know Before You Go

Is this therapy? Will you be my therapist?

No and no. These are educational consultation meetings only. They do not establish a therapist-client relationship, and Jennifer will not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment.

Can I ask about my own relationship or sex life?

Yes . . . with limits.

You're welcome to ask for education, general guidance, or Jennifer's professional perspective. However, if the conversation requires therapeutic exploration, diagnosis, or ongoing support, therapy is the more appropriate service.
To maintain this distinction, Pick My Brain meetings are limited to three meetings for any personal issue or relationship concern.

I'm a therapist. Can I discuss a case?

Yes. Jennifer is happy to offer informal consultation, discuss treatment approaches, share resources, or brainstorm ideas. Please do not share identifying client information.

What if I realize I need therapy?

That's completely okay. If Jennifer believes therapy would better meet your needs, she'll let you know and can recommend appropriate next steps. If you're interested in becoming a therapy client with Peak Couples & Sex Therapy, we'd be happy to help you explore whether one of our therapists is a good fit.
