My goal is to offer a sex-positive, trauma-informed therapy space.

Do you find yourself drawn to familiar relationship dynamics or repeating stories about who you are? These patterns can feel frustrating and confusing, but they also hold valuable clues. I work with individuals and couples who want to understand these deeper layers — whether they’re navigating early dating, maintaining secure partnerships, attachment wounds, self-esteem struggles, or questions around identity and belonging.

I'm also passionate about sex therapy and integrative couples work. I support clients facing challenges such as sexual trauma, erectile dysfunction, infidelity, desire discrepancies, and rebuilding intimacy and erotic connection. My goal is to create a sex-positive, nonjudgmental space where all parts of you are welcome.

My approach is rooted in curiosity and depth. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, and EMDR to help clients explore the inner patterns that shape their outer lives. My work invites clients to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that often go unheard. I believe meaningful change grows from this kind of deep, compassionate exploration.

In sex therapy, EMDR can be a powerful tool for addressing not only "big T" traumas, but also the smaller, often overlooked experiences that shape how we relate to sex and intimacy. Negative cognitions, early relational messages, and subtle but persistent experiences of shame or rejection can leave lasting imprints. EMDR helps clients process these stuck points, opening space for greater ease, pleasure, and connection.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in Sociology from George Mason University, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. My training allows me to approach sex therapy with a comprehensive, holistic understanding of the individual, relational dynamics, and sociocultural influences.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (VA #0701015173) and a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (DC #LGPC200001678) supervised Andrea Battiola, Ed.S, LPC (DC #PRC14849), and National Certified Counselor.

Professional biography

What is one book that has really influenced your work as a Couples & Sex Therapist?

↓ Fun Facts:

Both Why Love Hurts: A Sociological Explanation by Eva Illouz and Mating in Captivity by Esther Perel have completely shifted how I conceptualize my work by placing shifts in modern dating and notions of love in a broader cultural context.

How would your clients describe you?

Non-judgmental and compassionate mixed with humor and directness. They would tell you I am passionate about prioritizing what they hope to get from each session and providing resources to continue our work on their own between sessions.

When you’re not at your therapy desk, what can we find you doing?

When I’m not at my therapy desk, you will find me taking a Pilates class, enjoying live music (most likely Mt. Joy), or reading a book!
